Some people think that I am crazy for wanting to home school (and some days I think I agree). As a parent, however, I feel like it's my obligation to do what will be best for my kids. I think that if they went to traditional public schools, they'd probably turn out just fine. However, I feel like by taking their education into my own hands, they will get a more individualized education that will help them to learn more now and teach them to love to learn through their lives.
I don't know if we will home school for their entire school career ... we may just do it for elementary school, we may decide to do it through high school. At this point, we are going to try it out. I am wanting to give it at least a year or two. I think that them being at home and having our home be a learning environment will be really be good for all of us. I think that my relationship with the girls will be a lot better (not that it's bad now or anything) as we work together to discover new things and have fun learning! :)
So this is my blog. It's March now, and I am not planning on "officially" starting home school until the fall. Abigail and Eden are attending kindergarten at a public school right now, and I think I want to let them finish out the school year. However, I think we will start to do little things here and there between now and then, just to start getting us in the habit of learning. So, as we do those things, I'll try to post about it. I'd really like to document as much as I can so that we can go back some day and look at how much fun we had learning! :)
